The RailX team are delighted to be finalists in this year’s Supply Chain Excellence Awards in the Clean Transport category.
First to market, we are actively tackling the hot topic ‘decarbonisation of supply chains’, by launching a simple to use app for freight forwarders that allows users to access all UK rail freight services while reporting on the ongoing carbon savings achieved. With an immediate carbon reduction of up to 76% by users transitioning their road activity to rail, RailX is delivering credible and long-lasting benefits to the logistics industry.
With ambitious planning and a growing network of collaborative partners including Pledge and Portcast as well as support from leading organisations such as Rail Freight Group, Freightliner and DP World, we’re positioned to become a force for good within the logistics industry.
By appointing a Director of Sustainability, Kelly Hobson and commissioning ongoing AI projects with multiple small businesses, we’re continuing to demonstrate our level of intent to present cleaner transport solutions to a mass market adopting a future facing approach.
Paul Bathgate, RailX CEO explains: “We face today, the need to reboot rail within the logistics industry. Forwarders for the last decade have continued to ignore rail as a viable solution, many are intent on keeping hold of past perceptions of rail being inflexible and costly without recognising a new emerging opportunity that creates true commercial gain.
“There are so many benefits to utilising rail including a 76% carbon reduction from road, the opportunity to reduce the number of HGV’s on the road and access to wider incentive schemes such as the DP World Modal Shift Programme. Forwarders that embrace rail as an inland mode for freight will retain clients and attract new clients, which is how we all grow our positive impact today. We are incredibly proud of our work to date and are thrilled to have been recognised for making a difference across our industry.”
Winners will be announced at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards which will be held on Monday 28th October 2024.
